Paul James, Audicator Marketing Director
receives award for work on the
Northamptonshire Motorcycle Casualty
Reduction Forum.
Audicator
Marketing Director, Paul James, along with
fellow members of the Northants Motorcycle
Casualty Reduction Forum (MCRF) has received
an Impact Award for work carried out in the
interests of reducing motorcycle casualties
in Northamptonshire. The awards were
presented at a gala dinner award ceremony at
Towcester Racecourse on Friday 11th May
2007.
Paul, PR Organiser and co-founder of Ducati
Sporting Club, has represented DSC on the
forum since its inception seven years ago;
to date over £1.5 million has been directed
to improvements in the region expressly
aimed at motorcyclists. The MCRF is part of
the overall Northamptonshire Casualty
Reduction Partnership which in 2006 became
one of only six authorities in the country
to be awarded Beacon Status in recognition
of it being a centre of excellence in terms
of reducing road casualties.

The forum has been used as a model by other
authorities to set up similar organisations
around the country, it is made up of
motorcyclists who bring the problems faced
by the motorcycle user first hand to
representatives of the local authorities
responsible for the upkeep of the roads.
“Red Routes” where accidents have occurred
are identified and forum members ride them
to subsequently report on observed hazards
along the route. Corrective action is then
discussed; this can be in the form of
surface modification, improved signage,
removal of obstructions to visibility and
anything else observed
during
the rides.
